![]() ![]() By the time I got my hero stack back up and retook the city, Phobeous was on the move again with an even bigger stack. My hero stack was underground fighting off the darkelves, and I lost another city to the nomads. A few turns later some nomads showed up on the other side of my empire with several pitguards a couple chieftens and 8 or 9 fodders. I ran the 5 units I had in the city out to a better position rather than lose them since I had no stack near enough to recapture, and I feared I wouldn't be able to damage him enough (out of domain). Last night I was happily trying to expand my Archon empire when phobious showed up (around turn 35-40) with a lvl 5 hero, 2 knights, several swashbucklers, and assorted fodder, oh and a couple of catapults. Now the next trick is to not accept any peace or alliance offers, eventually your neighbors send over some decent sized stacks, and unless you were lucky to start in a closed position, or one with many cities its damn hard to fight the two and sometimes three front wars. Set city density to average and most other setting to average. ![]() I've taken to Large 8player (emporer) random maps with *no* nodes (more of a penalty to the player than the AI) and few structures so the player can't just free/buy tons of good units. Its true that the AI isn't that great, but there are some ways to make for entertaining games. ![]() Basically, the higher the AI level, the more resource advantage the AI has, and the more units the AI is able to turn out or summon per turn thanks to more gold and mana. On CPU Knight the AI would gain 200 gold per day. deal works something like this: say the AI on CPU Squire would gain 100 gold per day. Iam not sure if this is still the case in Shadow Magic. This is about the chart that I saw for AOW1 and AOW2. I don't have a list in front of me, but I think that according to the developers the difference between the AI levels is roughly the following:ĬPU Squire: 0x increase in mana and gold per turn, 1 experience gained per day for all heroes (same as human player)ĬPU Knight: 2x increase in mana and gold per turn, 2 experience gained per day for all heroesĬPU Lord: 3x increase in mana and gold per turn, 3 experience gained per day for all heroesĬPU King: 4x increase in mana and gold per turn, 4 experience gained per day for all heroesĬPU Emperor: 5x increase in mana and gold per turn, 5 experience gained per day for all heroes ![]()
